Just thought I would pay some respects to a guy who seems dedicated to putting his thoughts into prose. Can't say that I agree with you all the time, but I like reading your material nonetheless. I used to be a metal head myself, but merged into punk rock and speed metal around high school. Now that I'm all growed up I have settled into ska and modern folk. Anyways - the reason I brought it up is that I see you have GWAR in your music recommendations, so I will share a cool GWAR story. I worked at an indoor skatepark in Toledo in high school (in the 80's) and we booked GWAR to play a show there. They came with wireless instruments, in full costume complete with roller blades. They shredded around the park while jammin and lopping each others heads off with battle axes, spewing fake blood all over the place - all while the skaters (including myself) were skating the course too. It was sureal. Saw their act again at a small club and it was cool - but not nearly as cool as the skatepark. Keep up the good work - I gotta have something to do at work.

Howdy Metal. You and I don't always see eye to eye - I'm a bit closer to the middle of the political spectrum - but I do like your style and your passion. (And your screen name! I'm an old headbanger with a collection of well-used guitars, and I couldn't imagine life without them. Also, the Bible's stories and its authors continuously contradict themselves. You may want to reevaluate your belief system. It could be why you contradict yourself with your own beliefs. It's a shame that the average human is so credulous.

Judging by your self-authored biography, you are a naive and simple person swayed by the opinions of the masses. I respect your opinions even though they are illogical and appear to be that of a young college student. Anyone who calls themselves a history student and in the same page writes that they enjoy Thomas Jefferson and Karl Marx in the same sentence has no idea what they are talking about as their ideologies are opposing. Next you proclaim yourself to be a Christian or at least, appear to. Your confusion over your own beliefs that runs rampant in your biography shows that you lack critical thinking. If you're a history major then you should know that the Bible is constructed of many old religious beliefs that predated it's existence. Instead of being bitter about your "god" how about you take a new line of thinking and dismiss it all together instead of trying to irrationally criticize it? You proclaim that atheism is illogical. So the default answer is god? Surely you're smarter than that.

You sound like someone who was short-changed and is bitter at the world, don't worry I am too. I am also a fan of metal but your taste is commercialised garbage and shows what little appreciation you have for the genre. Is Slipknot, Immortal, Dio etc. the best you can come up with? Kiss is a talentless band that utilized theatrics to get by.

You are bitter about humanity yet have faith in them which is also an irrational.

Before your rebuttal, understand that I believe we are animals of nature with evolved survival techniques. I believe in social darwinism and natural selection. People's motives are always selfish even if they appear "noble" on the outside (such as someone advocating for something because of their own experiences). I am a supporter of some of Hobbes' and Plato's ideas (as you can tell by my name). I subscribe to no religion and am opposed to socialism, communism and all left-winged ideologies as they go against the laws of nature, no matter how "cruel" they can be. You support immigration with no other argument than "these poor people." With this argument you have left out statistics that show that the poverty stricken population grows faster than the amount of immigrants we could support and that we'd always be playing "catch up" while draining our own resources on them. This happened with ancient Rome. Surely you know that since you're a history student. It is obvious you haven't read any science books as you still argue about Christianity in your own mind so I won't even bother trying to explain the effects of immigration on the gene pool.

MetalGuitarist: Your knowledge & comments sound familiar to me as I have a grown younger brother who I BELIEVE has A FORM of autism, possibly Asberger's. I need more info on how to treat someone who's 46 yrs old, not 4 yrs old. I never seem to be able to find info on them. He's been diagnosed by many different doctors thru the yrs & they all came up with different things! "Retarded" (which NONE OF US in the family were allowed to even SAY & our parents told us he was NOT retarded! Please school me on THAT one.) And one said he's schizophrenic. But AUTISM was never mentioned yet from what I read about it, HE HAS MOST ALL THE SYMPTOMS!! He thinks of himself and not others' feelings, HATES change in routine, HATES taking a shower, HATES being told what to do, collects certain things & obsesses over them like trains, stuffed lions, certain TV programs & video games. Repetitive sounds or loud noises drive him up a wall, too! He also EXAGGERATES things and LIES. Could it be that it isn't lying TO HIM but just that he doesn't know how to connect what he believes to be so and what actually IS so?? He also takes things VERY literally which makes it hard to talk to him using a 'figure of speech'. For example - "You should be down on your knees ........" So he'd LITERALLY go down on his knees on the floor! I figured he just 'didn't get it'. When our mom passed away in the house where the 2 of them lived HE LEFT HER THERE FOR 3 DAYS & didn't tell anybody!!!! WHY?!? He said because she told him she wasn't feeling well so she was gonna go lie down & didn't want to be bothered. SO HE NEVER CHECKED ON HER FOR 3 DAYS!!! He now lives in the same house but ALONE and is actually doing better mentally because he's free & has more independence. Mom used to baby him so much that he barely felt or knew the consequences for ANY of his actions. I think that was a detriment to him & now I'M left with what's happened to him. It is NOT easy! Patience is a MUST!! Mom had a lot of it, I'm still working on it!
