For more than a generation, American voters have been told that Democrats are weak on defense issues and that such matters should be left to the Republicans-while they take your freedoms in the name of national security.
Who actually pulled the trigger?
While President Reagan made deals with terrorists, President Carter used force in a failed attempt to rescue the hostages who were being held in Tehran. Remember that? I do.
I was in the fourth grade on that day in 1980 when I ran to meet my mother who waited for me in the old green and wood-paneled 1969 Plymouth Suburban station wagon. I opened the door and jumped into the second row seats of the wagon when my mother bluntly said, "Eight soldiers died in Tehran."
That was all she needed to say because she knew I understood what she meant.
There was a rescue attempt, and it failed. That was all I needed to know.
Throughout the 1980s, two Republican presidents aided Muslim extremists, and we were rewarded with the September 11 attacks in New York City, Washington, D.C. and the failed attempt which ended in Pennsylvania for our trouble (George W. Bush was never president. That's why you read about only two presidents.).
While Bill Clinton responded to the first attack on the Twin Towers and brought that motherfucker to justice, George W. Bush sat dumbfounded at the news which Andrew Card whispered into his ear and then he ran to his mommy and daddy after he spent the day with children as they taught him how to read.
While Bush made the right move in going to war in Afghanistan, he never tried to find his family's old buddy, Bin Ladin. Why would he, as the Bushes and Bin Ladins go way back? Bush had his chance at Tora Bora and deliberately blew it.
Fast-forward to the year 2011. A Democrat has been in the White House for nearly two-and-a-half years. The War on Terror, already a bigger joke than the 'war on drugs' because of the building's previous occupant is nothing short of a yawner, to be sure-and then, a miracle! History is made.
Osama Bin Ladin is D E A D!
Is it not ironic that those whom many voters consider to the be the defenders of America left that same nation vulnerable to attack and only practiced quick draws in the mirror once she had been attacked, and is it not more ironic the man who had been ridiculed, laughed at and accused of not being an American does the most American thing one can do-kill a terrorist rather than negotiate with him as the tired old man did?
Here is the ultra irony: the successful attack we heard about is the same attack which was supposed to work in 1980, according to USA Today.
Republicans have always talked about how they love America more than the Democrats and that the Democrats cannot be trusted with national security.
Excuse me, but who allowed a family friend to attack our nation by ignoring the August, 2001 memo which warned of an impending attack on the United States?
It was the Republican whom many of you foolishly placed your faith in
Now that we have that question answered, who went and killed the son-of-a-bitch?
It was the Democrat whom I knew would kick ass and take names upon taking Office.
One final question before I go.....
Don't you feel stupid? You should.
